How to Sneak Alcohol on a Cruise

Now that you know what your cruise line’s alcohol policy is, it’s time to learn how to sneak alcohol on a cruise. Here are 13+ ways to sneak alcohol on a cruise, in no particular order.

If you know how to sneak alcohol on a cruise another way, please let me know in the comment section below!

1. In Your Checked Baggage

The best option to sneak alcohol on your cruise is in your checked baggage. It doesn’t get searched as well as your carry on and some people have gotten away with just putting their bottles directly in their checked baggage.

If you don’t want to be too risky, I suggest putting your booze into a different container instead of keeping it in the original packaging. You’ll find some really good options below.

2. Shampoo Bottle

Everyone brings a bottle of shampoo with them on a cruise, so where better to hide your alcohol? You can use an empty bottle from home or you can use a Shambooze bottle that is specifically designed to help you sneak alcohol on a cruise.

The Deluxe Shambooze kit comes with seals to put over the top so they look brand new and a funnel to make sure you can get every last drop into the bottle. Another thing I really appreciate about the company is the fact that they change the design on the bottle frequently in order to keep security on their feet.

3. Mouthwash Bottle

Save your empty mouthwash bottles! They work as a great cover for any kind of clean alcohol that you want to bring on the cruise ship. You can also add some food coloring to make it the right color.

4. In Your Allowed Wine Bottle

Most cruise lines allow you to bring at least one wine bottle with you, so why not fill it with something better? You can recork your wine bottle and buy new shrink seals to put on it. Better yet, they sell kits that include everything you need and even some specially-made bubble wrap to keep your bottle safe.

5. Alcohol Bag

An alcohol bag is harder to see and recognize on a scanner than a bottle. You can simply use a bag from boxed wine or you can buy new bags on amazon for relatively cheap. Alcohol bags are designed so chemicals don’t get absorbed into your spirits as easily and are tougher than normal kitchen bags, making them ideal for your checked luggage.

You can get a kit with 8oz, 16oz, and 32oz bags on Amazon for less than $15, and they even come with a funnel so you don’t spill any of your precious alcohol.

6. Fake Tampon Flask

If you’re a female, hiding your alcohol in a fake tampon flask may be the best option. Security is likely to pass over any tampons pretty quickly and it is a pretty unique way to hide things.

You can get five fake tampon flasks on amazon for less than $20. Made of food-grade plastic, each tampon holds 1oz of alcohol which is on the smaller side so I suggest buying two packs of five to ensure you have enough for all of your drinks.

7. Hidden Waist Flask

Your FUPA can now be filled with booze! This hidden flask pouch straps around your waist and can hold up to 32oz of liquid. It’s BPA and taste-free so you don’t have to worry about ruining your liquor.

When you’re ready for a drink, you can dispense through your zipper or you can use the included 4ft hose to drink from the flask directly. Because the flask is near a sensitive area, it’s been able to get through security pat-downs with ease.

8. Fillable Bra

The Original WineRack is perfect for females. It holds 25 ounces or 750 ml of booze and is sure to get by any security checkpoint. Its fully adjustable waist and shoulder straps ensure it’s comfortable and comes in multiple sizes.

People like Kathie Lee, Olivia Munn, Kelly Ripa, and many more have tried and approved the WineRack for your next cruise. If you’re trying to figure out how to sneak alcohol on a cruise, here’s the answer you’re looking for.

9. Binocular Flask

Bring a pair of binoculars on your next cruise that you’ll actually use. Binocktails Redesigned Binocular Flask can hold a total of 16oz, 8 oz on each side, and is a perfect addition for your next cruise.

10. Umbrella Flask

The BoozeBrella Umbrella Flask is a great choice when looking to sneak alcohol on a cruise ship.

11. Disguise it as Soda

When researching how to sneak alcohol on a cruise I kept finding this technique to disguise your cans as soda by cutting apart the soda cans and wrapping them around, say, a can of beer.

12. Sunscreen Bottle

This SunFlask by Smuggle Mug is a sunscreen bottle that dispenses real sunscreen and holds up to 9 ounces of liquor.

13. Lotion/Hand Sanitizer Pump Bottle

14. Ice Pack Flask

This Ice Pack Flask is perfect to sneak alcohol when you bring a cooler along.

Once you’re onboard the ship, it’s time to start enjoying your illicit beverages! I recommend finding a quiet spot on the deck or in your cabin to pour yourself a refreshing drink. Just remember to be careful not to get caught – if you’re caught drinking alcohol that you snuck onboard, you could be fined or even booted off the ship!

So there you have it – now you know how to sneak alcohol on a cruise without getting caught. Just remember to be careful, and enjoy your time sailing the seas!
