How To Light A Candle in a Hotel Room

If you’re staying at a hotel that allows candles, one of the first things you should do is locate the fire extinguisher. This will be your best friend in case of an emergency. If there is not a fire extinguisher in your room, call the front desk and ask them to provide one for you.

Once you have located the fire extinguisher, find a safe place to put it where it will not be knocked over. Then, you can proceed to lighting your candle. When choosing a place to light your candle, make sure that it is away from anything flammable such as curtains or bedding. A good rule of thumb is to keep the candle at least 12 inches away from anything that can catch fire.

Lighting the candle is the easy part. The tough part is keeping an eye on it. Never leave a lit candle unattended. If you must leave the room, blow the candle out first. Also, be sure to keep an eye on the wax level. If the wax gets too low, the flame can start to smoke and that can set off the fire alarm.

If you follow these simple tips, you can enjoy the ambiance of a lit candle in your hotel room without any worries!
